St. Thomas Mount

One the way home from Tambaram we continued our little Thomas pilgrimage, briefly visiting the Portuguese chapel built on St Thomas Mount, the site where Thomas was killed. The back of the altar features the stone cross over which he was supposedly praying at the time of his death, and the stone is reported to have bled several times (though not since the 1700s). It is a very sweet little chapel, ancient and humble, and a fitting place to end our trip.
